The past 20 years have witnessed significant events that shape people and industries. For MDV Central Air Conditioning Design Application Competition, it has evolved from scratch to become the most representative, authoritative, and influential event in the industry. The 20th MDV Competition Award Ceremony, with the theme of "Twenty Youth", looks back on the 20-year journey of its cross-leap development and presents a beautiful painting of "broad steps and far-reaching voyages, pursuing dreams with the wind".
The MDV Central Air Conditioning Design Application Competition was first held in 2002, also the first national design application competition in the HVAC industry. The first stop was in the heart of the motherland - Beijing. After two years of accumulation and polishing, the third MDV competition began to shift its focus to young designers and students. It provided pre-competition training specifically for students, leading to the emergence of many newcomers and new works with innovative design concepts and unique visuals.

In the following years, MDV competition entries extended innovative applications of air conditioning products and technologies to different building spaces such as office buildings, schools, hospitals, shopping malls, and residences. The competition covered more cities, and the award ceremony visited Hangzhou, Hefei, Changsha, and Chongqing. MDV competition persistently wrote its HVAC dream in the footsteps of the competition.

In 2010, the MDV Competition set the "Design Life Building" theme for the first time, implying that the highest level of design is to organically combine buildings with life. This theme has been used ever since. At the same time, the competition established the "Outstanding Creative Design Concept Award," encouraging designers to aim for "energy-saving and low-carbon" goals and to use more forward-looking designs to make the city a better place.

In 2011, the MDV Competition first divided participants into professional groups, dealer groups, and student groups, making the participants, design plans, and application scenarios more diverse.

In 2016, the 14th MDV competition swept 1153 design institutes and 67 universities across the country offline, with hundreds of salon activities, setting up 211 awards for 4046 participants. With a superior amount of prize money, the total amount of prize money and single item prize money exceeded that of its peers, making it the NO.1 in the same-size competition in the industry.
